31 mars, 2020
We would be grateful if you could inform other Union member countries and their Designated Operators updateδ information of our ability to send mail (letter post and parcel post items)

As per 30 March 2020, Hellenic Post – ELTA will only be able to send - with delays expected due to limited capacity- letter post and parcel post items destined to:

  • Europe (EU and Non EU countries): Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Rep., Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Ν. Macedonia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania,  Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland.
  • Rest of the world: Canada, Japan and Qatar.
Hellenic Post – ELTA is therefore declaring a situation of force majeure and suspending, with immediate effect, the acceptance of letter post and, parcel post items destined to all other member countries until sufficient transport capacity becomes available. Transit mail, closed or open, cannot be accepted to any destination country unless bilaterally agreed upon.

Furthermore and due to: quarantine cases,  traffic disruption and restrictions, compulsory days out of work due to health reasons, all as consequences of the COVID-19, Hellenic Post - ELTA faces major difficulties in mail collection and delivery.

Hellenic Post - ELTA thanks other Union member countries and their Designated Operators for their understanding and cooperation. We will provide an update via EmIS once the situation returns to normal.
